Info
The aim of the Black Hole project is to increase the export of Northern Finnish literature. The project consists of yearly events and a network for publishing industry professionals.
In the project, a network for publishing industry professionals is built. The network gathers its members regularly to events showcasing Northern Finnish literature, exploring its export potential, and fostering conditions for foreign rights deals. The aim of the Black Hole network is to be an active, accessible all-year-round hub for publishing industry professionals to discuss and share information. A biannual Black Hole Fellowship program for publishers and agents is planned to be launched in 2023.
The target groups of the project are literary agents, publishers, translators from Finnish to other languages, and Northern Finnish authors.
Black Hole – Books meet Rights 2022 is an upcoming event of the network, focused on translations and foreign rights. Read more about the next event here »
The project is made possible by the financial support of the Council of Oulu region and the City of Oulu. Partners include Finnish Literature Exchange FILI, Helsinki Literary Agency, and Arts Promotion Center Finland.
